(1906-1988) RCA,CAS,OC

Born in Quebec City, Quebec.Pellan studied at l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Quebec City (1920-25); under Lucien Simon at l'Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris (1926 - 1929); and at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris.Here he was influenced by Klee, Picasso, Leger, Miro and by Cubisum and Surrealism.He also travelled to Italy (1935) and Greece (1937).Working in oil, gouache, ink, charcoal, pencil, and collage, and various print mediums including silkscreen.
